Projects

Projects live inside departments and group related tasks around a shared goal — a client deliverable, a campaign launch, a product sprint, or anything else your team is working toward together.

Creating a project

  1. Navigate to a department in the sidebar.
  2. Click the + button next to the department name, or use the "New Project" action.
  3. Enter a project name and confirm.

Your new project appears in the sidebar under its parent department, ready for you to add lists and tasks.

Project statuses

Projects have two primary statuses:

StatusMeaning
ActiveThe project is in progress and visible in normal views
ArchivedThe project is complete (or paused) and hidden from default views

Auto-archival

Kamptrix automatically archives projects 7 days after all tasks are marked as completed. This keeps your workspace tidy without requiring manual cleanup. If you need to revisit an archived project, you can restore it from the archive at any time.

Project overview page

Open any project and you'll land on its Overview tab, which summarizes:

  • Tasks — total count and breakdown by status
  • Milestones — key checkpoints and their completion percentage (see Milestones)
  • Documents — files and docs attached to the project
  • Team members — people assigned to tasks within the project
  • Progress bars — visual indicators of overall completion

This page is a great starting point when you need a quick status update without digging into individual task lists.

Project settings

Each project has a settings panel where you can:

  • Rename the project
  • Change its parent department
  • Manage team member access
  • Configure notification preferences
  • Archive or delete the project manually

Access settings by clicking the gear icon or menu on the project header.

Organizing work inside a project

Within a project, work is organized into lists (task groups). Lists let you break a project into logical phases or categories — for example, "Research," "Execution," and "Review." Each list contains individual tasks.

Tips

  • Keep project names specific and action-oriented (e.g., "Q3 Blog Content Calendar" rather than "Blog").
  • Check the overview page regularly to catch tasks that may be stuck or overdue.
  • Use the auto-archival feature as a signal — if a project archives itself, your team completed everything on time.
